The journey to lose weight continues
Elaine Yap
But the bad news is, I lost mainly muscles, and just a little fat. XNDO has an incredible weighing scale that even measures your basal metabolic rate. Mine’s gone down.
My consultant this time is Nicole. She explained that the reduced metabolic rate could be due to my lower food intake (I only succumbed twice last weekend to chocolate ice-cream and a bit of fried carrot cake). Also, I did not exercise as much.
So I realize that these first 3 weeks is really about getting initiated into a habit – exercising, sticking to three main meals and getting rid of my 10 am, 4 pm and midnight feeds…yes, I used to eat 6 meals a day. And XNDO has these behavioural aids like snackwaters (containing medium-chain triglycerides to promote satiety). I have also stopped drinking coffee with sugar and take the XNDO coffee which also contains these medium-chain triglycerides and at 20 calories per cup, is a fraction of the usual coffee I take. They also have air-dried broccoli and the taste does grow on you.
Now the most exciting thing is Natalie will take part in the next 10 km run with me in August under SAFRA! I can’t believe I actually got her to sign up. Now there is a little running interest gathering in my office. Quite a few colleagues have signed up to run as well. So that’ll be fun and fulfilling.
